Behind the Scenes: Where Your Money Really Goes

At first glance, it might look like you’re “just” ordering a grazing box or table — but what you’re really getting is a carefully curated experience built on hours (sometimes days) of planning, sourcing, and love.

When you support The Grazing Zebra, you’re not just paying for cheese and crackers. You’re investing in a small business that puts you — the customer — at the heart of everything. From the very first enquiry to the final delivery, your experience matters deeply to me.
So, what actually goes into preparing your bespoke grazing experience?
1. Planning & Scoping
Before anything is chopped, sliced or arranged, there’s research, communication, and creativity. I work with you to understand your vision — whether it’s a cozy girls’ night in, a corporate lunch, or a magical wedding graze. I’m thinking through your numbers, your guests’ preferences, dietary requirements, timing, and your aesthetic.

2. Designing Your Menu
I don’t offer off-the-shelf food. Each menu is created around the vibe and flow of your event. That could mean balancing strong and mild cheeses, adding a seasonal twist, or designing something extra special for your theme.
3. Chatting to Suppliers & Multiple Wholesaler Trips
I’ve built trusted relationships with local and artisan suppliers. But it still means several trips a week to different places to get what I need. It’s fresh, handpicked and high-quality — nothing is ordered in bulk or left sitting in freezers.
4. Prepping & Assembling
Prepping ingredients is a full-time job in itself. Cheese has to be at the right temperature. Fruit must be sliced freshly. I hand-roll charcuterie, fold, cut, garnish and arrange it all with an eye for detail. Every single item is placed with care.
5. Transport & Setup
If you’ve booked a grazing table, I’m loading and unloading heavy gear, styling the table, troubleshooting weather or layout issues, and making sure everything is immaculate by the time your first guest arrives. For deliveries, I plan routes carefully to ensure everything stays cold and fresh.
I’m proud to say that this is not a mass-produced operation. It’s me — Gabriella — giving 100%, every time. I love what I do, and I care deeply about helping you create something memorable.
Your grazing experience is so much more than just food. It’s a moment. A feeling. A showstopper. And behind every delicious detail is time, thought, energy and heart.
So next time you unwrap one of my grazing boxes or platters or walk into an event to see a stunning grazing table… just know that it was built with you in mind, from start to finish.
