At The Grazing Zebra, we love a challenge and this December wedding was certainly one for the books. Set against the backdrop of Storm Darrah’s fierce winds, we catered for a beautiful countryside celebration that truly embodied the spirit of winter resilience and rustic charm.

The marquee, perched in the middle of rolling farmland, swayed under the force of the gale, with a tractor parked strategically against one side to shield it from the gusts. Temporary power outages added to the drama, but none of this dampened the spirits of the party or the warmth of the occasion.
For this large wedding party, we designed a grazing table spanning metres, laden with:
• Artisan cheeses and charcuterie
• Freshly baked ciabatta and bagels with a variety of handmade fillings
• Ploughman’s-style favourites like scotch eggs, pork pies, and chutneys
• And so much more to keep guests grazing for hours!
The rustic-style marquee was beautifully styled with thoughtful farm-inspired touches, from a suspended ladder dressed with fresh foliage to vintage milk jugs that tied the theme together perfectly. Even with the storm raging outside, the cozy and relaxed atmosphere inside made the event feel magical.

Feedback from the guests was glowing - they loved the idea of grazing freely throughout the evening, creating an informal dining experience that encouraged mingling and celebration.
This wedding was a perfect reminder that even in the most unpredictable conditions, great food, thoughtful presentation, and teamwork can transform a challenge into something truly unforgettable.
